Recent Traditional Work

These are the long awaited traditional paintings done with traditional media. No digital manipulation, these are physical original paintings. It feels good to say that since, for the sake of time, my assignments usually ended up being digital. I plan to work traditionally from here on out, so here are the traditional media pieces of the last few months...

 Final for advanced figure drawing:

Here are a few paintings done as a series:

Last Digital Projects

I haven't been on top of posting my recent pieces mostly because of my workload, but the semester is now over and shown here is some of the digital work from this semester (and some from last). Some were simply created for assignments, some I put more of myself into. Digital is now (for the most part) in the past when it comes to my work. I plan on working traditionally, and doing digital only when required. This is NOT my medium of choice... so what you see here is probably all you will see from me digitally for a long while. I guess all I have to say is, enjoy it while it lasts! Yes, I will take on digital commissions if asked.

Simon & Garfunkel

Hey look, it's Simon and Garfunkel on a bridge over troubled water. Listening to the sounds of silence. This was a perfect opportunity to try a different style, and I have to say it was fun.

Ideas are Water

I'm taking Conceptual Illustration, which I'm very excited about. I have always wanted to do more conceptual illustrations over narrative. I didn't quite finish the first project, but I thought I'd share anyways. We were supposed to pick a metaphor, and I chose "Ideas are water".

Watercolor

Thought I'd share one of my watercolor paintings from last semester. Done with masking fluid, pours and sprays.

Hand Building Ceramics

So last semester, after knowing how stressed out I get doing too many Illustration classes, I went ahead and signed up for both watercolor and hand building ceramics. Hand building ended up being the perfect respite! I spent every friday for at least 4 hours in the lab.

There was a Crooked Man

It's been a while since I posted. I went through yet another rewarding semester...

Here's one of my favorite pieces from Narrative Illustration.
